ADHD isn’t hurting my life (I’m very successful), but I think I could benefit from treatment is the benefits of the treatment supersede the risks. Any ideas?

Has anyone tried acupuncture as a treatment for ADHD?
If so, was it successful? How many “treatments” and how often were they given?
I am NOT open to discussing whether ADHD is truly a “disease” or not. I am a very concerned mother of an 8 yr. old, 3rd grade boy that has tremendous difficulty focusing, sitting still and learning in school. He is falling behind quickly, as 3rd grade require much more independent work than 2nd grade did.
Obviously we are looking for alternatives to the popular treatment (i.e. meds.) for inattentiveness and hyperactivity. I am not asking for any lectures – just advice from other parents who have tried acupuncture.

thanks for all the people who replied to my 1st question about non medical treatment for adhd.while browsing through your answers,i came across one who said that her grandson was also diagnosed with asberger’s disease.this aroused my curiosity so i would like to as you guys if you knew anything about this as it may be the exact condition of my 7 year old son (for now his diagnosis is possible adhd).any explanation will be accepted though specific & more detalied one,if availabe,are very much welcome.im really getting desperate as to how to deal with my son at the moment thats why i kept on asking for help regarding this matter.

I’ve recently had heart palpitations on adderall XR and my doctor took me off of it and the palpitations have completely stopped. Strattera is very, very expensive so I was wondering if anyone had any success with alternative treatments or behavior modification for ADHD? Any tips are appreciated as I am having a pretty hard time without my adderall. Thank you!

I have heard of a lot of different vitamins, and I’ve even tried a few vitamins. I was wondering though if anyone has actually tried a vitamin, or supplemental ADHD treatment for a fairly aggressively ADHD child and has it worked? Serious answers only please. If you’re not a parent or caregiver of an ADD or ADHD kid….move on.
