Making the System Work for Your Child with ADHD
Review
“Finally, a book that really talks about what parents have to do to make things work when their child has been diagnosed with ADHD! This is an amazing book, and every parent whose child has ADHD should read this and apply it. I wish I had had this guide at the start of the process in my own family, but I am glad that others will have it, hopefully much earlier in their own process. Thank you, Dr. Jensen, and thank you to all the parents whose marvelous and moving stories are included here. This book is a godsend.”–Barbara Huff, Executive Director, Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health”A practical, helpful, and easy-to-understand book that informs parents and helps them take charge of their child’s care. I Have Recently Been Diagnosed With Adult Adhd And Started Treatment. My Employer Is Making Life Tough. Help?
I have been diagnosed and all paperwork, reports and requests from employer (large high st bank in a head office marketing team) have been seen to back this up. I have been open, honest, speedy and made little requests of them.
however, my line manager has made me feel so worthless and at fault, and that i am not capable and that maybe i should try easier roles, that i have been off work on sick for over a month.
I tried to resolve face to face but she is just plain negative in her attitude, has no patience and intimidates me. She says she cant change any parts of my job content but will give me extra breaks and quiet room to work in and some flexi work hours.
I spoke to the union who asked me to try talking out issues wiuth her but i tried that and am now so anxious about work i cant bare to go in, as scared.
My only option is to quit or write to them in HR and ask to be able to be moved into a new role in the large office, with new line manager.
I am on a £35k managers salary in marketing and not sure what to do, how to do it and what is possible. What are my rights and what is best thing to do as i know i cant work for this women.
I am protected by DDA and a union member.
